The Olive
Our walk began by passing an olive tree, its branches heavy with ripe olives. As we admired the tree, Shaz and Tracey encouraged Nat to try an olive straight from the tree. Nat, who loves olives, didn’t need much convincing, but they warned her with grins that olives fresh off the tree didn’t quite taste the same as the ones from the jar.
Eager to prove them wrong, Nat took a nibble out of the olive, expecting the usual burst of salty, briny goodness. Instead, her face twisted in surprise. The taste was bitter, and the texture dry and furry—a far cry from the olives she loved. As we continued our walk, Nat couldn’t stop complaining about her dry, furry mouth, much to the others' amusement.
As we continued our walk, the olive incident became the highlight of our morning,
a reminder that sometimes the funniest moments come from the most unexpected places.
Today’s walk was a perfect example of how the simplest things—like an olive tree—can turn an ordinary day into something special. With all the laughter, banter, and Nat’s olive misadventure, we were reminded of the joy that comes from spending time with friends.
Remember, it's the little things in life that often make the best memories. So, cherish those unexpected moments because they are the ones that add colour to our daily lives. Join us on our adventures, where every step brings Shaz and Nat Chronicles continue to unfold, filled with laughter, mishaps, and the enduring bond of friendship.
