The Olive
Today our friend Tracey joined us on our walk. It's always extra fun and filled with laughter when our friends tag along, and today was no exception. The morning was bright, and with Tracey by our side, we knew it was going to be a walk to remember. It always is! Our walk began by passing an olive tree, its branches heavy with ripe olives. As we admired the tree, Shaz and Tracey encouraged Nat to try an olive straight from the tree. Nat, who loves olives, didn’t need much convincing, but they warned her with grins that olives fresh off the tree didn’t quite taste the same as the ones from the jar. Eager to prove them wrong, Nat took a nibble out of the olive, expecting the usual burst of salty, briny goodness. Instead, her face twisted in surprise. The taste was bitter, and the texture dry and furry—a far cry from the olives she loved.
